A Time of Waiting

You’ve stripped me back
You’ve laid me bare
Now I wait at the empty chair
Waiting for you to join me
To console me, To show me you always remain True

As I wait….

Take away the bark from my heart
The bark from my lips
Give me a quiet spirit of sincerity
A genuine love and compassion for all

Lord? …..I feel the months of battering
Have taken their toll
That I have become callous , hard hearted and cold
Lord I fear that I have put on the cloak of religiosity
Preferring the adulation, dictate and doctrines of men
than depending and believing on your quiet, unadulterated Word

Lord, I want to return to the road map you gave me
the way you have shown me to walk
Teach me again, your will and your way
Give me divine wisdom and understanding
Only you have the power to navigate the traps which have been laid for me
Only you have the power to break the chains that hold me

Open the door of my prison Lord,
Set me free

Lord, i yearn for you …..
I will wait,
for as I wait, i know you will show
You will bring light and love and laughter -for this Life
I will see and feel your glory
I shall know you, as surely I am known

What’s it all about Alfie?

Father has blessed me with the gift of dreams and visions. It comes from revelation knowledge which is one of the gifts inherent in the Holy spirit. Sometimes however I can’t see, or when I see , half of the picture is obscured ( I can see the bottom half of the picture but the top is hidden ) I often wondered why this happens.

Yesterday after my uncles funeral we were sitting at my aunts  table and having a discussion about the Lord, reading the bible and comparing our own understanding of what we think the scripture says.

Some will have noticed in that discussion that I pulled myself out of the conversation because I could sense the jostling for position, and it felt like it was getting more about head knowledge (our interpretations) how we want to do things, when it is first things first :- knowing and obeying God.

I came across this article late last night and it says it better than I could ever. It will be helpful for those who want spiritual vision, want to truly understand more and want to ‘see’ and clearly.

Title: The need for continual obedience -by  Watchman Nee*

“God grants us revelation of scriptural teachings according to the measure of obedience we render to Him. The more we obey Him, the more light we will receive. If we continue to obey God we will continue to see. Without consecration, we cannot see. Without continual obedience, we cannot continue to see, if our consecration is not thorough, the shining will not be great. If our obedience is not fine and detailed enough, the light we receive will not be fine and detailed. Therefore the fundamental issue is consecration. If a man does not understand the meaning of consecration, he cannot understand the Bible.

A consecrated person must not only have an initial, fundamental consecration, but he must sustain an obedience before the Lord all times, only then will he continually see. The amount of light a man receives, depends on the amount of obedience he sustains after his initial consecration. If we are perfect in our obedience, we will be perfect in our seeing”

*watchman nee became a Christian at the age of 17 in mainland china and was imprisoned at the age of 32 for his preaching of the gospel . He died there in 1972 having been denied permission to see his wife or to attend her funeral when she died. He spent his time pouring out his life and writing what the holy spirit revealed to him. His teachings are profound.

A Onesie

I had this dream /word about a onesie and then the Lord downloaded the following
Bringing myself to a place of peace, a oneness in him
From where then does wisdom come? Where is the place of understanding?
I was looking for wisdom and comfort in the people of this world but it simply isn’t there. They are carnal (says the spirit within me) and they bruise the heel, you must bruise its head. You must wait on me. You must call, I will give you rest. I am there in the shadow. In the night. In your darkest hour. I am there . I am here. You heard me right the first time.

Don’t worry if they don’t acknowledge or understand you They won’t .

See 1 Corinthians 2:6-8

“Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect:yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew:for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory”

Marvellous Provision

My daughter is growing up. When she turned 16, I began to think of ways to increase her independence.  One idea was to let her open her own current bank account and, instead of giving her pocket money or money in ‘dribs and drabs’, I put it straight into her account, which she can access with her own card, at any time and start taking greater responsibility.

The other day, I saw her face looking crumpled …! What’s the matter?   I asked. She said she needed some money for some items for college.  I said you have your pocket money in your bank , why don’t you use that?   She looked surprised -(She is not really money orientated or a ‘grabber’). She had forgotten I had deposited money into her account and for several months now.!   As soon as she realised she hot footed it down to town.

I thought, this is what a lot of people are like when it comes to the provision God has already made. We struggle on and struggle on in our pain, forgetting that He  has already made provision. He has given us His Son and we can draw from this marvellous provision at anytime and to meet all our needs – What does the bible say?… He will meet those needs ‘according to his riches in glory’ .

So today, if you have a need, let this piece remind you. He has already deposited so much – in fact himself ..! All that He is and has, is and can be yours.  ‘Ask’ and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, running over.  Can you see it?  Glory to God!

We want to give thanks for a new season within our community and workplaces and organisations
We are first instructed to pray for governors and rulers and kings and queens and so we lift up our Head of state, our queen , our local and national leaders and ask for divine guidance and wisdom in organisational, community, national and international affairs.
We pray for every citizen, worker , section of the establishment – from babes in utero, to elders , mothers and fathers , brothers and sisters and carers.
We pray for employees, for hands on staff and those at strategic level making decisions in places of work and business.

We pray for the users of our services. We pray for peace and order where there is disorder –
We pray for decisions to be made which will help our communities run well and for individuals to take responsibility for their actions.
We pray for the schools and the law courts and again all who work therein , to ensure the learning is as it should be and law and judgement, is as it should be.
Lord we know that there have been cut backs which have affected many, we pray that you will safeguard our individual and collective interests, to protect and provide in times of need.

Thank you for opportunities to stand together as a community, church , workforce, organisation to pray and to make a difference
We know that you are able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can now ask or think
We leave ourselves in your hands this day for you to have THE rule and to direct .
