“Don’t pick the scabs”

I woke yesterday morning after having a dream about the behaviour of an individual towards me and my family. How this person caused confusion and chaos. I saw them doing it again in the dream and moving onto a new situation to repeat the destructive patterns. The dream left a bad aftertaste to the point I was very low in spirit when I woke and feeling again wounded.

I sat on my settee and cried for myself, for England .. and the whole world. I then was led to pick up my iphone to scan and a dream I had had in September 2012 and that I had written was brought back to me by the Lord and the scripture.

I had had this dream for Eldoret a place I had been ministering at in Kenya, Africa. I woke and went back to sleep, but the dream at the time, wouldn’t leave me. I saw the women of Eldoret holding onto me affectionately and they wouldn’t let go. They were dressed in very large silk kimonos of different patterns. They stood in a row , arms stretched, together. At the time, I had pondered in the dream what it was about and the Holy spirit had reminded me of the scripture from Isaiah 54:2-8. He brought this again yesterday , in my distress and by way of encouragement .

I want to share that scripture with you and then minister a word and a prayer. He said and is saying :

“Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; 3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. 4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. 5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. 7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee”.

What a wonderful Father! He also showed me that it is a spirit of rejection at work in that individual which wounded and as the potential to wound others.

Father reminded me what he had called me to do, to recognise the spirit at work in a matter, to recognise trauma and to bring insight and healing into what keeps us all down at times and how not to pick at the scabs.

The warmth and affection of the women in the ‘Eldoret dream’ depicts the power of love and fellowship amongst godly women from any nation or situation. Let us reach out to each other in love, let us link arms in the struggle of our times and be a source of comfort to someone in need.

Yesterday, I was hurt, Today , I am restored. I am praying for increased sense of togetherness across the divides of our individual and collective lives . May we build bridges and come against the spirit of rejection. Not praying against the person or the individual (God help us …) but against the spirit behind that person, which is ‘the thing’ which is at work. May we not pick those scabs..!
