Dogs kill sheep

By Linda Clifford-Hayes

We have been tasked to read and research the book ‘killing kryptonite’ by John Bevere.

Book reviews are right up my street, something I have done and have wanted to do with my current posting – not for secular learning, but for the Body, our common good and spiritual advancement.

I started the assignment late, but I am on the second section. There is much introspection and self reflection and we are all in jeopardy unless we take heed.

As always, my spiritual antennae has been on the look out for that rhema word ie for greater understanding and wisdom. Father will bed down the learning and protect all that concerns me.

I put the book down to take a shower and to have a cup of tea. I like to hear the 6:00 am news, so I switch on the TV. There is a news report on which jumps out at me and forms the title for this piece ‘Dogs kill sheep’.

A journalist was interviewing a farmer. The farmer recently had to shoot some dogs to protect the livestock. The owners of the dogs, had been irresponsible, leaving the dogs out free to roam on the land, whilst they had been doing other things. The dog had ‘jumped the fence ‘ which had had a devastating impact on the lifestock.

I thought about what Father has been revealing to me this year and the chapter I had just read in Killing Kryptonite. In explaining what ails the Body of Christ in this present hour, Bevere speaks about Phineas how in his generation (see Numbers 25) he stood up and took action when he saw unrighteousness; it wasn’t liked, but this stopped the plague, stopped the impending loss of life, carnage (if you like) of the attack coming against them – the attack a consequence of the ‘in-house‘ (my italics) behaviour.

I thought about what I have been seeing in the Body (not just one church) and the compromises we have all made and which Bevan highlights by the Holy Spirit. The things which causes plagues, death, inertia, sickness and weakness.

These maladies are caused by doors being opened (either things we are doing, things we hold dear which aren’t of God) ; things we idolise , promote, or keep as pets (the Rottweilers, the Yorkshire terriers even the handbag pooches..) – the things that affect our progress in Him. Further, (and if the spotlight is correct), dogs straying in places – jumping the fence, moving into the most holy places, (see Daniel 12:11) where they ought not to be. The farmers (the pastors, the leaders, the evangelists, the prophets) not speaking out, not properly minding and protecting the sheep.

Sometimes what we see and treat as pets are actually ravenous wolves. They may sound like, operate like , use the right words , tune and tone but they are not. The sheep (those who are of God) hears the threat and look for the Shepherd to respond. Many shepherds are absent in mind body and spirit . Some are complicit.

God will reveal the threat and impending doom to those who hears and knows his voice.

Hear his voice :

The bibles says ‘Beware dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (Philippians 3:2)

What is maiming and killing us ? Let me answer : The uncircumcised philistine and ‘flesh works’ – We need circumcised, spirit filled believers and ministers, officiating, standing in the holy places, or there will be continue to be decay, death, disease, contamination and carnage.

We need to call things as they are , a dog a dog and a spade a spade. Time to stop the Tom foolery.

The farmer said it this morning in the news clip, it’s not the dogs fault – they do not know how to be different. If they are given an opportunity, they will take it. They do what they do because they are ‘brute beast ‘ (my emphasis). Their hearts are uncircumcised. They have not the Holy Spirit or the fruit of the spirit. They foul and make a mess because they are designed to do that in the way they do it. Damage is caused to, and in the Body , when dogs are left to foul, bruise, or run amok amongst the sheep.

Dog is a strong word Linda, I hear many say. Give them time to change. We don’t have the time! It is already late.

The scriptures are replete with what constitutes a dog both the devious and dumb dog lying down loving to slumber. (See Isiah 56: 10 & 11; Psalms 22:16-20; Revelation 22:25).

As Bevere says ‘many of us want to be encouraged and uplifted rather than challenged. We spend years molly coddling ‘baby christians’ people who will never grow up. We continue to pet and stroke.

We have to be very discerning in these last days. We have to see with the eyes of the spirit. There is a place for the circumcised and the uncircumcised. There is a place for dogs and a place for sheep. Some dogs need to be put down. Some dogs need to be put in their place. Some dogs need to be put outside. We need to remove the abominations that we have allowed to slip into church, into our worship.

Finally brethren and speaking as a Phineas in my generation, Beware of dogs – beware of the things we pet/stroke, beware of our idols (people and material) – those things we hold in high esteem which look like, but are not. Dogs cow, injure, scatter and kill sheep.

Let God’s word be true and every man a liar. This is an aspect of the Kryptonite in the churches.

But they would not

I saw a young girl (same cultural background as myself) walking from the local university with loads and loads of bags and a large canvas suitcase. She was struggling to manage her load, the suitcase kept swinging between her legs, tripping her up.

Almost to my detriment, I stopped and parked up, straddling the yellow lines in the 5:00 pm traffic. I got out and ran towards her lifting my boot in anticipation. I asked her where she was going, she said to the next shop to get some money to go to the station – I asked her if she wanted a lift, she said No.

I walked back to my car and watched as she went on stumbling. I got a sense she had been ejected from somewhere or in some turmoil. I sat and wound down the window as she passed and said ‘are you sure you don’t want a lift ?’

She unplugged her earphones from her ears and said “No” despite me saying I’m a Christian , work for the Council -showing my official badge. I got back in my car and turned into my road and headed for home, thinking how sad – (i) sad she was struggling and (ii) sad she refused the help. I thought to myself , I don’t think I look like a mass murderer.

I am in my bed pondering the events of the day. This event came back to me. It reminds me of God reaching out to us time and time again on our way, on our journey – wanting to lift our load and we refuse even, though we are struggling.

I thought of how many times I have seen needs (even in our own local church) and offered to help, but the response is No. I remembered once ministering to a sick person overseas and the Lord revealed they were offended at the suggestion that they can be healed – they wanted to stay sick as it had pecuniary advantages for them.

Sometimes God brings someone into our lives to pour into us, but because of pride or because it doesn’t look like what we think that help should be, we reject. I remember when I was a young girl in my 20’s (part of a church but not surrendered to God). I was seeing an individual and in sexual sin because this was outside marriage. The Lord sent a prophet to my door. She accurately described the young man I was seeing, (she was not from my home town). She brought a stern message to me from the Lord. I was bemused by this, but I would not listen .. at the time. I wanted to have my cake and eat it, as they say. I wanted to have my fella and ‘keep house’, like everyone else was doing at the time.

I remembered the scripture the prophet Isaiah brought to the children of Israel :

….. All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. Romans 10:21.

But they would not.

Jesus’ own lament in Matthew 3:27

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!……”.

God sent his son at detriment and peril for us , but we often refuse. He keeps sending sons and daughters from Mount Zion, his prophets , his saviours, who are constantly rebuffed and rejected.

We are a chosen, but stiff necked generation and full of pride. But the bible says ‘Today, if you hear my voice harden not your heart’ .We need to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, recognise where we are falling short and so that in due time he will lift us up. Don’t keep looking a gift horse in the mouth ..!

The bible says ‘Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper’ 2Chronicles 20:20

Finally it says: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be baptised for the remission of your sins. Acts 2:38

What manner of man is this Hallelujah

A prayer for the healing of our nations

A prayer and a time of fasting for our families, city, nations, loved ones. 4/2/18

Write the vision, make it plain, that they those who ‘see’ (not everyone sees…) may run with it.

Written by Ev Linda J

My God, my God, our inner cities and streets are a microcosm of the state of our world. They represents the brokenness and darkness in our world, in our families and the nations. I see men walking with alcoholic drink in hand even before midday. Others walking like zombies, dead men. Lost, not knowing whether they are coming or going. Disenfranchised, broken men and women. A young woman with ravished ,rotten teeth – an older lady with the world on her shoulders, toppling and tumbling, not knowing where she would sleep tonight. Somebody’s mother, grandmother, somebody’s daughter. My God does anyone care? Bandaged and broken (some her own doing) but rejected by state and government – evicted, tossed out , left to fend or to die.

Today, as some of us continue to dedicate a time of fasting and wrestling with the Lord (1st Sunday of the month) for all these situations we know of. May he give us strength to break through for our city and loved ones.

We wrestle on the behalf of those who have not yet made a covenant with God. Those we know, those sent across our paths, those we will meet. We will not be silent.

Salvation comes from mount Zion and we are the saviours of the world. Let our beautiful feet tread the courts of the Heaven today for our children our loved ones. Wrestle for, and claim that soul in prayers and in fasting. Wrestle and worship the King.

As I stood yesterday with others and flicked through the bible to find something to ‘speak’ to the nations in the open air in my own town and city, the Lord gave me Revelation 22 . I share it again today for it is this promised picture and vision of restoration we claim and which we will stand on:

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their forehead”

Father we declare that a river runs through our city our nation. The highways and byways of our town.

We put Derby, The UK , Jamaica , parts of Canada and San Fransicsco before you. Let your Holy stream, your life, wash away everything that is halt, that is lame that is blind, that is not of your divine Order. Cleanse our streets , heal our land.

Lord ? Who made mans mouth? You. Turn cursing to blessing. Let that crooked, twisted, mouth praise you. Release a spirit of prophetic prayer in the land.

Lord, we declare our town and our cities are places of revival and places renown for blessings not curses. As we declare our city our nation, a thing of beauty, let light shine on our way.

Lord let the tree of life (which is Jesus) branch and bud in Derby, in our families, our city, nations, towns and let the divine shoots, seeds and foliage be for the adorning and healing of the nations. Let there be extension, connections , regeneration for good, for you and the gospel, of your dear son, Jesus.

Your word already declared

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.”

Righteous springs forth today for our children, our cities our nation and our loved ones.

For Derby’s sake and for the sake of the Kingdom we do not hold our peace, and for Jerusalem and for your name sake, we will take no rest, until righteousness goes forth in our streets as brightness, and the salvation is the lamp that burns in each house and heart .

Lord take away the curse, the stain, the shame the blot from our loved ones. Those that have made a covenant with death, wake them up !

Take them out of the valley and the shadow of death. Break through the gloom.

It is time for their release and we command it, in Jesus Name.

We name all the loved ones , the situations :

Lord give us an increased passion for souls. Take us out of our comfort zones.

Lord we say we care, but we have become hardened – jostling for things, caught up with the things of this world , the works of men and our flesh.

Lord , It is so easy to say, but to do , we struggle. Satan’s crooked fingers beckons. Sin has become normalised and stands waiting, knocking at our doors.Help us my God. Deliver us from evil.

Lord, If we don’t make it , what says those who come behind us? Our children, our children’s children ? The next generation. Have mercy.

Lord, for our seed sake, we plead. Bring back holiness. Bring back supplication. Bring back righteousness. Not religion, not new methods, not abuses of power and human control, but righteousness.

Bring back divine, ordained authority. Spirit filled leaders with compassion and passion and your name emblazoned on their hearts.

Let truth and justice reign. Bring back a thirst a wanting, a knowing of you. Bring back wisdom and understanding , that quiet and meek spirit, which is of great price to you.

Turn, turn , turn the keys to our hearts. Let life and light flood in again. Let it be that light that shatters that darkness in any chamber, in any place of despair. In areas of any need or want bring healing blessing and restoration. Let every bubble be a blessing.

My God revival starts with us . The household of faith. May we step out in faith. May we push the envelope. Proclaim your word.

My God and my King, remember your promise . If two on earth agree anything… it shall be done of our Father. Where there is unity in the spirit and in all things , you command the blessing.

We are in agreement for the saving of our souls, for our children , for our unsaved family members :

We are in agreement For……Name them or the issue

We ask these mercies in Jesus Name

Loving kindness

mahabun liltayiba – Arabic

A prayer for this present darkness

Linda Clifford-Hayes. 1/2/18

Lord, I thank you because you have given me prayer

Because of this blessing I need not be alone.

Lord I can turn my cup up at anytime of the day and you never disappoint.

You are a refreshing to my soul.

You are a covert in the wind.

My place of hiding. The lover of my soul.

Lord, at times I feel betwixt and between – on my own, but I know I am not alone.

I am with you and know that there are 7,000 plus that have not bowed the knee.

7,000 plus with whom I have identity. 7,000 plus that would give an answer, a word- your word.

The time of day, a cup of tea and your loving kindness – Mahabun Liltayiba.

I am so grateful for your knowledge and understanding, Your discernment. You teach me . You lead me. You pulled me up with your right hand of righteousness.

Thank you for the small flickers of light, love and hope, you show me each day.

I have been weary of feigned love, false brethren, friends and enemies, but you restore my soul.

I have seen the sleights of hands, churned mouths, backs turned , veiled, shallow greetings. You have shown me men’s hearts

But I still stand.

Screwed up twisted dead pan faces, the scoffing, scorning and questioning of my authority.

But you called and you sent. You placed. I cannot go, or be, without You.

Rebuffs, rejection abound. On the left and in the right. Despite of your shed blood. Despite of your love. Despite the lateness of the hour.

I have seen the vying and jostling for power.

The pomp, the ceremony, religiosity and pride.

They usurp and squash

They silence you and your servants. They walk past head held high. They snub, nay would snuff out, the very light and life of men – if they could but they can’t . They are Pharisees.

It is you who lights my candle

It is you who fans my flame.

For now let them be

Let them grope in the dark

Cometh the hour

For judgment you came into this world, that they which see not might see and they which say they see, might be made blind .

You have seen. You will reward.

Eventually ….

I am comforted by

Your whispers at the breaking of the dawn, like those heady days when you would knock, would visit

Would wait for me ….patiently …

You’re back again!

I am here, sitting quietly in my corner.

You’ve honoured me with things too high for me

Despite my failings

You’ve remembered my name

I hear you, I see you I feel you.

I love you. Want more of you.

My cup is lifted up.

Give me a token of your love my Lord, that those who hate me will be ashamed.

Cover me now with your glory and grace.

Your daughter
